The Nagoya Project provides a tool for lexicographers to create and maintain dictionaries in all languages (and across languages).
The program is fully internationalized and Unicode 4.0 is fully supported, although, not all characters (and character sequences) are fully rendered on all platforms. (See "To Do" list.)
The program itself organizes data by headword and allows various descriptive fields to be added and associated with each headword.
Headwords or fields can be searched using either an exact match, keyword match or partial match algorithm. The data can also be searched using simple regular expressions.
Support for multiple authors using a shared database is provided.
Portions of a dictionary can be created locally and then synchronized with a central server. In this manner, data can be easily exchanged between the members of a team. Or, multiple authors can work directly on a common shared database.
We at cjkware.com inc. encourage people to collect and share linguistic information as part of a greater effort to foster cooperation and understanding around the world.
